Brief Answer:
Number of false negatives will come down after 12 weeks
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing back.
The chances of false negatives will come down after 12 weeks. The chances of one being positive after 12 week is very less.
A rapid test may not be conclusive even at 90th day. A p24 antigen assay holds a reliability at 90th day to rule out HIV well.

if there is chances of false negative with rapid test even after 90 days. How my 71 st day rapid test is conclusive. Whether I need further test or not.
Brief Answer:
Negligible
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The chances of False negative fall to very low after 12 weeks.
The seroconversion with well detectable viral load usually occurs from 2 week to 12 weeks. HIV usually do not go missed during this period. The chances of people who undergo seroconversion within 12 weeks is about 99.97%.
A test can come positive even after 6 months after exposure when all previous tests had come negative but the chances are negligible. This may happen in 0.03%.
There is no specific time when one can assure 100% HIV negative status. Suggestions are subjective, depending on the severity of exposure, HIV status of the Infected person transmitting the infection and with experience of doctors who deal with HIV infections.
regards,
Negligible
