Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. Only throat pain is unlikely to be Covid-19 infection.
2. Covid-19 usually causes cough, breathlessness and at least two of the following symptoms: fever, chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, body ache, headache, sore throat, recent loss of smell or taste. The incubation period for Covid-19 is currently estimated at 2 to 14 days.
3. Basic OTC (Over The Counter) medication such as an anti-allergy, paracetamol, anti-acidity medications and medicated gargles (oral rinse) should be taken initially. If there is no response in 48-72 hours or worsening (increasing symptoms) you can seek examination with a local doctor. You have not mentioned the exact site of the pain. Uploading images will help.
4. Pain outside the throat can also be a referred pain from inside the throat/neck, a lymph node or a thyroid issue.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
