Brief Answer:
It’s Diaper Rash: Candidial Dermatitis

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Welcome to Ask A Doctor service.

Greetings of the day

Thanks for providing the pictures : It really helps. The rash is Diaper Dermatitis with candida infection ( fungal infection ). The diaper rash ointment commercially available just contain barrier ingredients like Zinc oxide. It may not be beneficial beyond certain point.

I would suggest you the following

1. Have diaper free time for baby : 1 hour a day keep the baby without diaper

2. Antigunal ointment : Clotrimazole along with steroid like Betamethasone will be helpful

Clotrimazole is usually available as over the counter medication.

Apply the ointment 3-4 times a day

I am sure your child should start getting better in couple of days.

If you need any further assistance than kindly get back to me.

Thanks

Best Regards
Dr Deepak

Brief Answer:
Hydrocortisone or betamethasone will do

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for getting back

Diaper rash is term used for any rash occurring in genital and groin region. Majority of them have candida infection. In addition to hydrocortisone which is steroid , it’s equally important to use Clotrimazole which is anti fungal agent.

Wishing your kid speedy recovery

He was feeling hot and what if there’s fever
doctor
Answered by Dr. Deepak Kishore Kaltari (5 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Kindly measure his temperature

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Feeling hot is subjective sensation. My suggestion would be measure his temperature by any home thermometer. If the axilla temperature is < 37degree Celsius then it’s not fever. If it’s more than it’s fever. Simple Paracetamol drop in dosage of 15mg /kg /dose would be sufficient.

If the child is feeding well , urine output is ok and sleeps well then there is no cause for concern.

Take care

Regards
Deepak
