Question: Suddenly I feel this very warm sensation start in my entire body, from the feet there the too of my head. It sort of starts slowly ang goes everywhere. It only lasts 30 or 45 seconds and then slowly subsides. I will not have it for a few months but when I get one I’ll have another or 2 the same day or within 2-3 days. I’ve probably had them occasionally for 3-4 years. I’m now 71.

Brief Answer:
Hyperthyroidism may be a cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear , welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.

Hyperthyroidism is a cause of hot flashes in post menopause .
I would recommend you to do thyroid hormone levels, T3, T4 and TSH.
Also I wanted to know if you are taking any medications like raloxifene, tamoxifen, Tramadol, antidepressants or osteoporosis treatment medications.

Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further
