Question: My wife had to undergo a surgery to get her gall bladder removed. She is 30 year old and we have an infant who is 3 months old. Can you please let me know what foods she can eat and what foods she needs to avoid ?

Brief Answer:
Should avoid fatty meals

Detailed Answer:
Hello! Thanks for putting your query in HCM. I am a Gastroenterologist.

I can understand your concerns regarding your wife and baby

As far as Gallbladder removal is concerned, She has to avoid fatty meals and nothing else. Fatty meals like non vegetarian, yellow part of egg, and fried meals. Among fruits and vegetables She can take any one of them, however should contain less fat (Ghee or Oil)

As far as feeding to baby is concerned She should take healthy, high caloric and high protein diet (Cheese, Pulses, fat free milk, Soyabeans, Groundnuts)

As a whole She should avoid only fatty meals and rest of the food she can take, provided that it be hygienic

I hope I have answered your query and this will help you . Wish you a good health
