Question : Hi Doctor,

I purchased 'Marvelon' tablets as the pharmacist advised me the same. They said these tablets have the contents, ethynyl estradiol and levonorgestrel. I have no options left as I went to pharmacy by pharmacy. I had this tablet once yesterday. Please advise if this ok.

Another thing can I start taking precaution from next time and just disregard this time or is it not safe and I should be taking pills now? Please advise.

I know its too many questions. But I'm really worried.

Sorry for the delay in replying.

Marvelon is not meant to be used for emergency contraception. There are not enough studies to confirm its efficacy in this regard. Anyway take another 4 tablets after 12 hours of first dose.

As it is there are very slim chances of conception with unprotected sex you had on 4 th. So don't worry.
Please be careful from next time onwards.

Should I take 4 tablets continuously every 12 hours? Please advise.
