Question : Hello, I'm interested in a non-prescription substitute for Naftin. For athletes foot - something that dries out- doesn't leave the toes moist.

Brief Answer:
OTC terbinafin or tolnaftate;; undecylenic acid also good...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Naftin's substitute which dries out, you may find OTC powder forms of tolnaftate and/or terbinafin with good results.
Undecylenic acid has been shown good results too, but be careful do not apply on pus sores or badly broken skin.

I usually recommend my patients to:
- wash the feet especially between the toes with warm water and soap
- dry them well
- apply gentian violet solution, let it dry
- then, apply anti-fungal cream

Hope it was of help!
