Brief Answer:
investigation might be needed

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

you've been taking a higher than usual dose of prevacid. 30mg once daily is the most common dosing scheme. You haven't mentioned the reason you were taking prevacid. Esophagitis, gastroesophageal reflux, peptic ulcer should not cause any symptoms when taking the drug. Since you seem to experience symptoms (although you haven't mentioned which) an upper gastrointestinal endoscopy would be recommended, if the symptoms suggest a gastrointestinal cause. The endoscopy should serve to exclude (or confirm) other causes like tumors for example, which may mimic common benign conditions.

Regarding alternatives, omeprazole, esomeprazole and pantoprazole are examples of proton pump inhibitors like prevacid (lansoprazole). All of the can be used once per day for the most common disorders.

I hope you find my comments helpful!
