Brief Answer:
Alternative medications are available

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted the symptoms of your husband, his diagnosis and current medications. Side effects are common with memantine and quetiapine. Quetiapine would cause more drowsiness.

For dementia, rivastigmine patches (Exelon) can be used, which are safe and effective.

Also, these can be applied on skin and hence, there is lesser risk of nausea or vomiting.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
