Question : My husband was just diagnost with pancreatic and liver cancer, I am currently taking 60mg of Cymbalta but when I lose insurance won't be able to afford it as I can not work due to physical pain. My question is what's a cheap and good anti depressant to ask my pcp for?

You maybe losing your prescription plan soon and you were wondering what would be a low cost alternative. There are several options the lowest cost prescriptions would be generic fluoxetine or prozac and other SSRIs. But you are taking a medication classed as a SNRI. The best alternative would be generic Venlafaxine or effexor. instead of hundreds of dollars for your cymbalta the fluoxetine is abot 50 and the venlafaxine about 90.
