default
Posted on Thu, 28 Apr 2016
Question: Looking for another medicine to hopefully CURE or just keep yeast infections symptoms at bay. I have had them since September. Been to my OBGYN multiple times. Have done the fluconaze, the flagyl, creams and now that the Dr. has diagnosed it as chronic yeast infections, he has me on boric acid supposotories couple of times weekly. Which is miserable. I am miserable daily. Has diminished my sex life with my husband. Its like a domino effect.

Brief Answer:
Vaginal swab culture will help.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Having treatment for yeast infection many times without being relieved of heavy discharge is distressing. Regarding the treatment you can do the following things-
1.Avoid irritation of the genital organs caused by various factors such as dirt, soiled under garments, intestinal worms and excessive mental stimulation of sex or masturbation.
2. One of the things you can add to your daily diet to treat leucorrhoea is a banana that is dipped in clarified butter or ghee. This should be eaten with breakfast and lunch.
3. Increase your intake of cranberry juice. This juice has quite a number of properties that are good for women and drinking this juice helps with the treatment of leucorrhoea.
You need to eliminate certain predisposing factors like:
1) Diabetes by doing one blood sugar (PPBS) test.
2) Recent change in sexual partner, presence of any type STD.
3) Using any contraceptive pill/ Cu-T (IUD), douching or inserting any foreign object.
4) Concurrent practice of vaginal and anal intercourse in alternate way during same session.
5) Other co-existence factors- irregular diet habit, psychological factor, hormonal imbalance, non-maintenance of genital hygiene during period, cervicitis/ atrophic vaginitis etc.
Simultaneous treatment of the partner and vaginal swab culture will help in proper treatment.
