Question : I am a 74 year old male and am having prostate issues and am otherwise in good health. I am taking Flomax which does not appear to be helping. PSA results have not changed over the years. Are there other medications which could help this situation without have an invasive procedure? Also, I know that a substance which I call "beta prostate" is advertised constantly. Is there any scientific data which shows this might help?

Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have been diagnosed to have Enlarged Prostate and been taking Flomax since a long time .
Flomax is a drug that belongs to Alpha Blockers that is commonly prescribed to patients with enlarged prostate. It relaxes the smooth muscles in bladder neck and prostate and help to improve urine flow .
It is natural not to get response after taking this drug for a long time .
You can take Silodosin once daily .his is a newer drug that has been introduced in recent time .
Do not take any medication that are being advertised on internet as these drugs have no scientific data.
I would suggest you to consult Urologist for revaluation and further treatment .
