Question : for doctor XXXXXXX XXXXXXX further to our last conversation see attached results. no change in symptoms behavioural symptoms getting wo
rse. on risperidone one mg twice a day. Is there any other helpful medication.

Add Quetiapine and get MRI brain done

Hello,
Brain imaging (MRI ) is required to look for brain changes.
The other investigations are normal.
Quetiapine can be started for behavioural changes.
Review wit brain MRI. Consultation and visit to a psychiatrist/Neurologist will be helpful in monitoring response to drugs and need for dose increase.

Both drugs can be given with similar effects.
Risperidone is more used for schizophrenia, psychosis.
Quetiapine is better in terms of agitation in dementia and can be increased safely with lesser side effects.
All these medications require supervision and should be started cautiously.
Further diagnosis is required for treatment plan.
