Brief Answer:
First, rule out adenoids, allergy.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query.

1. The most common cause for nasal obstruction at this age is adenoids.

2. How was the diagnosis of polyps confirmed? Nasal turbinates can be mistaken for polyps. Has he had any X-rays, Sinus CT Scan or allergy tests done?

3. The treatment of the polyps usually consists of medical treatment for the underlying cause and endoscopic removal (polypectomy).

I hope that I have answered your queries. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.

Regards.
