You can put FML T eye drop but not for longer duration
Detailed Answer:
Hello
I can understand your concern. There is no safety study of Florometholone(Steroid) use in children below 2 years of age. FML T drops contains florometholone with tobramycin(antibiotic).
You can give Azithromycin 1% eye drop as it is considered to be safe.Gentle cleaning of the eye with a cotton ball (soaked in lukewarm water) one direction only from the inside to the outside of the eye should be done 2-3 times a day.
In most of the cases redness subsides within 3-4 days.
If redness persists steroid may need to be added. If the redness increases or there is sticking of the eye consult an ophthalmologist for evaluation and management accordingly.
I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more query.
