Suggest An Anti-depressant For Anger And Irritability

Question: Is there any one type, or one specific anti-depressant that works well for people who experience depression as irritability and angry outbursts as well as the more traditional symptoms like sleeping for long periods, not have the energy or will power to take care of myself or my home...ect....?

I can understand your concern. You have tried Prozac, Zoloft and these drugs didnt work. You are currently on Britellix. Lexapro worked but tolerance developed. All these are SSRI drugs and they didn't result in improvement, in such case other anti anxiety and antidepressant drugs can be tried. Venlafaxine is one good alternative but the drug is known to case some sedation though this would be less than the sedation caused by SSRIs.

For atypical symptoms of depression like irritability, anger outbursts, sleepiness etc drugs like Bupropion can help. Bupropion is associated with least sedation and the drug would control some mood symptoms also. The drug is safe drug and is free of side effects like weight gain, sedation etc. This drug will prevent tiredness and fatiguability and can help you.

Please visit your doctor and discuss about any of these drugs. These drugs can help in atypical symptoms.
