Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for the query on Health care magic platform. I understand your concern.
* Actually arthritis does not have any specific diet which cures it... but few diet tips followed, definitely improves the overall progress & course of disease & also eases the trouble & sufferings. The main objects of the diet in arthritis are-
- To strengthen joints & bones-Getting serum calcium & vitamin D tested & have sufficient intake of these daily adds to joint & bony health as per expert advise.
Glucosamine & chondroitin supplements help cartilage health/ prevent fast aggravation of arthritis .Glucosamine is naturally present in exoskeleton of crab, lobster, while chondroitin is naturally found in bovine trachea or cartilage ... but these nutrients are best taken in drug form.. to avoid risk of intolerance & allergy.
- To improve body immune system-
Anti oxidants ( Vitamin A,C, & E ) received from fresh veges, salads, fruits/fish oils , olive oil as well as omega 3 fatty acid help the over all health & slow down progress of arthritis/ reduce swelling & inflammation of joints
- Diet to reduce body weight - This helps by reducing stress to joint by relieving weight bearing & easing inflammation& easing joint movements.
- Have a balanced, healthy diet ( with carbohydrates, proteins, fats in good proportion with lot of fresh vegetables, salads, permissible fruits, milk& plenty of water) having prescribed calories by a dietitian.
- avoid over eating/ excessive sleep/ sedentary life style
- Avoid excess of salt, fast food, ice creams, pastries, bizarre eating to curtail calories
* please understand the curing diet is not there for arthritis .. but one can definitely reduce the suffering with having arthritis friendly nutrition.
A dietitian's advise is a must.. in order to have dietary adjustments according to your overall health.
- Medication & Physiotherapy play main role in arthritis controls
I hope, the answer was both informative & useful to you.Any follow up query is welcome.
