Question: Hi - I have had asthma for 12-13 yrs. I now on Medicare, and my inhaler medicine cost too much. Symbicort. I have had it in 6-8 months. I am presently using a neubulizer & albuterol sulfate 0.083 that I have had since 2011. Terrible seeing, congestion, shortness of breath at times. I can not afford the inhaler, I don't know if I should go to the hospital and run up a XXXXXXX I work part time so I don't qualify for help.are there any Over The Counter meds.

I can understand your concern.
In my opinion, you are mostly having acute exacerbation of asthma.
Most common cause for this is lung infection.
And in this situation, you need injectable antibiotics, bronchodilators and steroids.
Long acting beta 2 agonist in inhaled form is also needed.
Since all these are prescribed medicines, you need to get prescription first. They will not give obverse the counter.
Infections are not possible at home, so you need to go to hospital.
