Increased salt intake not required

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using Healthcaremagic.

I went through your query and understood your concerns.

Eating salt is not going to solve problem of low sodium level. Our body has strong mechanism to maintain sodium level with in normal range. When ever there is some problem, then only low levels happens. We need to search for cause of low sodium levels. The cause can be established after detailed examination and investigations. A nephrologist would be the right person to evaluate on the cause.

Norvasc is not going to affect sodium levels in body. So you can continue that medication according to your doctors advice.

If its a first time, I usually correct sodium correction. Increased salt intake is not required.
Any repeated attacks of low sodium need to get batteries of test done including hormonal levels, renal function etc. to check for cause.

Hope I answered your query. Feel free to ask further rated query.

Regards
