Vilazodone is an antidepressant-like all the others that are out there.
If a review says that it is better than the others, then it should be cross checked at first as it may be done by the company that is selling it or that has the interest to sell it.

Like with every antidepressant you have to try it, in order to know if it works for you.
So, my suggestion is that if you already have medicines that you are using and that are working well for you, then do not try others.

Also, on the other side, the recommendation is only for depressive disorder. I don't know why you need to use it, but it hasn't really been tried for other things. But, like all the other medicines that are antidepressants, doctors prescribe it for other conditions like anxiety and if it works, then great.

So, new medicine does not mean the best one. It can be the best one, but not until they use it in enough people to be able to tell that.
