Question : Hi I just found out my son had been taking 100 mg of adderall for over 6 months now is the damage he's done to himself permanent? What kind of damage could he have done? Should I send him to the ER?
That's 100 mg every day
I just asked this question but I want to know how likely these damages are

Brief Answer:
He must have developed tolerance.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concerns.
100mg adderall is a quite high dose.
But as he has been taking drug for six months with same dose, I think he might have developed tolerance to it.
The effects can be on heart, liver, kidney and brain. However, the effects may be reversed over the time when the drug is stopped.
As the drug is addictive, sudden discontinuation is not advisable.
ER intervention is not needed at present but A gradual dose reduction under supervision of a psychiatrist should be considered.
Hope this helps.
Thanks.

So once he stops he'll heal? Is severe brain damage likely
and what would be the symptoms?
and what would be the symptoms?
Brief Answer:
The effects will go away.
Detailed Answer:
Yes, once he stops, the effects of drug will slowly go away.
The severe brain damage is unlikely but it can cause some memory issues.
Once the drug is out of system, he would slowly recover.
I wish him well.
Thanks.
