Question: I have terrible insomnia bouts and sleep apnea, have a bad cold and haven't slept in two nights. I usually take ambien but that didn't really help last night. can I take a zanax now and then ambien several hours later. I have to sleep. Thank you
what is the XXXXXXX ambien you can take safely. It seems some manufactorers work better than others? I am taking ten recently

Brief Answer:
10 mg is maximum dose

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us. I can understand your concern.

Ambien is used for sleep initiation. 10 mg is the maximum recommended dose. You can have xanax for a while if your doctor has already given. However for long use I recommend lorazepam for sleep rather than xanax. Please ask your doctor about the same.

Hope I have answered your query, I will be happy to help further.

Regards,
