Brief Answer:
Information

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

The maximum dose of codeine phosphate for an adult is generally 240 mg in a 24 hour period. If you need something for pain at this point, yes, paracetamol would be fine, providing the codeine preparation you have been taking did not also contain paracetamol or acetaminophen (same thing).

I also recommend calling the prescribing doctor, as he/she may want to give you naloxone (an opiate antagonist) to decrease the dosage in your body. Most likely the excess codeine will not cause you harm, but please do let your doctor know what is going on.

I hope this information helps.
