Question : my mother had her INR checked today and was told it was 1.4 and that was okay to continue the same dose of Coumadin being a nurse I know the range is 2-4 I am concerned about a stroke for my mother . she takes Coumadin for AFIB

INR target range for A.fib is usually between 2 and 3. The INR you stated is sub therapeutic. However increasing the dose depends upon the current dose and duration of treatment. Kindly answer the following to advise accordingly.

What exact dose of coumadin did she start with.
With what dose of coumadin did she reach an INR between 2 and 3.
For how long has she been using coumadin.
