Brief Answer:
Information

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome,

If you are insulin dependent, this can turn into a serious, even fatal situation. Without insulin, sugar levels will rise in the blood, but there is not a mechanism to get the sugar into the cells, where it is needed for them to produce energy and survive. Sugar gets spilled into your urine along with the water your body needs. So basically you go into a state of starvation and dehydration. Your body goes into a state of ketosis and then can go into a coma, as the brain shuts down.

If your body is dependent on getting it's insulin from a shot, you MUST go in to whatever ER or clinic is available to you and get a new supply. If you have already missed some doses, you may need to have your blood and urine checked now to make sure problems aren't occurring that need correcting.

But please, do not go without insulin.
