Question : I’ve been in Lexapro 10mg for the last 8 years combined with Ativan 0.5mg (which I cut in half) everytime I get overanxious, due to severe panic attacks. It seems to work fine, except that in the last two weeks I’ve been over-stressed and the anxiety level had increased tremendously, with some depression and insomnia as well; due to a particular situation at home. I am also a chronic fatigue syndrome and fybromylagia patient for the past 8 years. Lexapro helps with the hyper-skin pain as well (sensitivity to touch). It totally disappeared. My question is: should I increased the lexapro to 20mg and use less Ativan or continue with Lexapro 10mg and take the whole pill of Ativan?
Brief Answer:
I would not suggest reduction in dose of Ativan. Lexapro may be increased
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
I think that the dose of Lexapro can be increased to 20 mg (after confirming from your treating physician) although I would not suggest reduction in the dose of Ativan.
