Suggest Dosage For Wellbutrin XL

Question: My de prescribed me 300 mg wellbutrin xl..now I have taken it in the past years ago and I started with 150 mg then..is this normal to just take 300 without gradually stepping up? I'm nervous to take that much.

Usually, the dose of wellbutrin is gradually increased.
In my opinion, you should initially take 150mg wellbutrin for one week and then increase the dose to 300 mg.

Can I break the bupropion (generic form) in half to make it 150? There is no score on it

Extended release formulation should not be cut into half.
Its better to get 150mg bupropion formulation.
