Question : My doctor just switched me from Synthroid 75mcg, to Armour 90mg, I am worried that 90 is too much compared to the 75 of Synthroid.. She told me this was just a slightly higher dosage amount in comparison.. from what Ive read, it seems its almost double the amount of Synthroid.. Am I understanding this wrong?

Brief Answer:
The dose should be 45 mg

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Welcome to HCM. I have gone through the question and understand your concerns.

The conversion of Armor to synthyroid is 60 mg Armor = 100 mcg of synthyroid. So 75 mcg is equivalent to 45 mg.
These conversions may not always work perfect because there will be different absorption of drugs in different patients. So you have to recheck your thyroid function after 6 weeks.

Hope I have answered your questions. If you have any further queries I will be happy to help you
