There is no evidence that it actually boosts immunity.

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
Although it is unlikely to cause any side effect and you can give it more than once a day, do not expect it to boost his immunity.
Laktrum is Bovine (Cow) Colostrum Powder. Although it is claimed to boost immunity, there is no proof/evidence that it actually does. Although it is not likely to cause any harm, let me mention that cow milk or colostrum is meant for cows and not for humans. Moreover, colostrum is the first milk secreted just after a calf is born. It would be highly uneconomic to obtain and so there is significant doubt whether the product actually contains what it claims to contain. Sorry for upsetting you but such a formulation is more likely to benefit the marketers than your son.
Let me know if you have any other queries.

Green leafy vegetables and colourful fruits are beneficial.

Thanks for writing back.
Supplements do not really help in boosting immunity. The things I would suggest are:
* Rainbow fruits (colourful fruits of all colours) contain rich source of antioxidants and should be taken regularly.
* Green leafy vegetables need to form a regular part of the diet.
* Adequate protein should be present in the diet. Fish, meat and eggs are animal sources while pulses, soya, spinach, tomatoes etc. are plant sources.
* Regular activity in the form of playing is essential.
* Sea fish can be included twice a week. It is a good source of omega 3 fatty acids which boost immunity.
These would help in building the immunity status of your child.
Hope that helps.
In case you found the answer to be helpful, I would be glad if you close the thread with a positive review and a 5 star rating.
