Question : Sir Ihave been using Asthalin Inhaler since last Twenty years and take appox Ten puffs a day.Recently my doctor advised me to take Seroflow Inhaler 250 Two Puffs in morning and Two in the evening.Could you please advise me whether I should start with low dose of Seroflow 125, and will I have to continue taking this Inhaler throughout my lifetime.What is percentage of steroids in this Inhaler with common side effects since I have been taking medication for my high BP also ie.Tozam one tablet in the morning . Thanking you.

I understand your concern.
Asthalin is steroid free but Seroflo has Steroids in it. However, inhaled Steroids have relatively very few side effects.
We always advise our patients who require to take steroid containing inhalers to use "Spacer" with the inhaler. This is a device which is connected to inhaler. This minimizes the deposition of Steroids and inhaler particles in mouth.
So, do use it.
Always gargles and do mouth wash 10 minutes after you take your inhaler.
As far as dose and duration of seroflo is required, that depends on the severity of the Disease and the symptoms.
I would like to know that you have Asthma or Smokers lung (COPD).
How many attacks in a week you get?
Are you breathless all the time or the breathing issue has increased in winters?
