Suggest Dosage Of Tegrital

Question: My son was on tegrital 300cr from last 4 years under supervision of dr XXXX neurophysician XXXXXXX and being tappered from july 2015 200cr bd from 1.10.2015 200cr half tab bd. However. Today on 26th oct in morning at abt 550 there was seizure .he was unconcious for 5 minutes. Please advice what to do. Means keep continue the half tab 200cr both time or 300cr has to start afresh his age 18yrs and weight 76kgs..

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
It is better to escalate the dose to 300bd and get consultation from your treating neurologist.
In some person seizure recurrence occurs with tapering.
Slow and gradual tapering is recommended.
