Brief Answer:
Yes it could be dehydration

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for choosing health care magic for posting your query.
I have gone through your question in detail and I can understand what you are going through.
Ones you are on lithium, you need to take the medicines regularly on time and also maintain your fluid balance by taking an almost fixed amount very day. Over a period of time the blood levels need to be checked and the dose adjusted. The levels of 1.4/1.8 could be due to dehydration and it would be wise to get it checked again.
Hope I am able to answer your concerns.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for me, so that I get a good feedback.

Do I need to be admitted to rosy unit in order to evaluate where exactly my lithium levels of normal .8, .09 given my medication daily, '; now 300. Down from long time usage of 450 mg daily.?

Was the 300 mg arrived at out of the blue after leveled off at 1.0, or was it temp over the spike medal until they hit 1.0).The article mentioned 300mg, 450 for the range of 0.8, 09! Please explain. My kids are pushing me to be admitted for 2-3 wks to see what numbers show up forcing term therapy. I disagree. XXXXX

Brief Answer:
No need for getting admitted

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Frankly there is no need to get admitted if your doing fine with your illness. 300mg lithium is a good enough dosage and the same can be continued and the levels can be checked after 7 days to look for the baseline.
If the levels come back to normal then 300mg is what you need to continue. Or else if the levels are too low then you need to be upgarded to 450mg again.
Kind regards
