Question : I am a clinician in the UK, but my patient is in Ghana. He would appear to be suffering from food poisoning, and I cannot find an effective substitute for metaclopramide there. Any suggestions? I have requested Emex and Loperamide, but I am not sure whether I have chosen the best solutions, and I'm not sure whether doctors in Ghana have access to medications not listed as Registered Products under the fdaghana website
Brief Answer:
Domperidone could be a possibility.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, and thanks for using HCM.
In my opinion, you could prescribe your patient Domperidone, that may substitute Metoclopramide and is easily found.
Hope this helps. Best regards.
