Question : hi doctor

my baby is 21 days old and sometimes does not take my breast milk properly. please advise what are the alternatives i can give my child when she's not taking my milk so that she does not get weakness.

also summer is approaching please advise diet plan for child.

Only breastfeeding is required

Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
Breastfeeding is all that is to be given for first six months of life.
Sometimes babies may not feed well somedays. There are some easily rectifiable reasons for this
1. Ensure baby sucks from both nipple and areola.
2. Feed in a dark environment.
3. Mother should take plenty of liquids to keep hydrated.
4. More important empty one side breast before shifting to other side.
If still you feel milk is less, try formula like similac.
