Hi,

It's important to identify the cause of plugged ear. It could be secondary to cold. However other causes including ear wax need to be ruled out before planning treatment.

That being said, home remedies which could help you are:
1. Antihistamine drugs - Zyrtec tablet or bendaryl are extremely helpful.
2. A valsalva maneuver like chewing a gum and swallowing is known to unplug ear.
3. Steam inhalation regularly relieves eustachian blocks and plugged ear.

Besides these home remedies, you may also need decongestants available as oral as well as topical prescription medicines. You can contact your local doctor.
