Question : Good Evening

My left rib has been incredibly painful for the past 9-10 days, to the point I sometimes struggle to lie down or stand up from sitting because the sharp pains are so sore.

I wonder if you could advise if there are any home remedies to sort this out?

Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Explained

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome

I appreciate your concern

If the rib is painful and there is associated difficulty in breathing then complications of atelectasis can occur.

An EKG should be done to rule out a cardiac cause. The pain should be removed especially if it's associated with trauma to the ribcage. An intercostal nerve block would be the preferred option.

please consult your doctor before taking any further course of action
