Suggest Home Remedies For Severe Chest Pain

Question: Hello Doctor,
I am 34 years old male. Last few days (a week before), i had lifted heavy object and acquired pain on both the side of my chest. Though the pain did not occur on the day of the heavy weight lifting, but a few days later.
Three days before, i had injecting pain on the chest (middle, side & upper shoulder). I could not bear it, i wanted to see the doc immediately. However, i assumed that it was due to muscle spasm and took home remedies and the pain subsided. However, it was the first time i had such a pain, i , on my own, went to a laboratory and underwent ECG & Echo.

The ecg report said, i had some variation. Hence, i did ECHO and the report came out to be completely normal. I am attaching both the reports. The ecg was done by a in-house consultant cardiologist and he had asked me to do ecg one more time, since he said i had faster heart beat on the first day. Today also the ecg had some variation. He took my BP and said i had BP 160/100 and hence, he dint prescribe me a TMT test.

But, he has advised me to perform coronary angiogram (that was shock to me). I could not accept it.
My pain has reduced and i just wanted to know, if i can take painkillers and wait for few more days to arrive at any decision.

Currently, i could able to walk comfortably and the pain will subside when i stop walking or sit.

Please kindly advise. I am attaching the ECG & ECHO reports for your review.

Brief Answer:
Yes Your ECG do have some significant changes

Detailed Answer:
Hello Vidyashankar

I hope you remember i saw your ECHO report which was totally normal and advised for a ECG also.

I saw your ECG which you have done and surprisingly it do have some significant ST T changes which we call as ischemic ST depression. And today you have mentioned that your chest pain subsides when you stop walking and sit now this symptom you have not mentioned before and this signifies angina.

NO AFTER SEEING THIS ECG IT'S NOT ADVISABLE TO WAIT FOR A LONG TIME. These ecg changes needs evaluation. You can take couple of days time and then either

1. Go for a TMT
2. Go for a Angiography

Now with TMT the thing is that if it comes positive then again we have to go for an angiography because it is the only final test to rule out whether these changes in ECG are due to heart ischemia or not.

Finally Angiography is the only final test as it is important to rule out ant heart issue.

Hope this information will be helpful. Feel free to ask me if you have any more doubts.

Kind Regards
