Suggest Medical Tests To Rule Out Chest Problems

Question: Hi Doctor,

I would like to go for a general checkup once. I have been smoking for more than 7 years since 2008. And these days I feel some chest congestions and my body is becoming weak. I am hardly trying to leave smoking but I am not able to do. Just wanted to check my lungs status and even it would be better if I go through some other tests which are necessary.
And these days I totally reduced my smokes to 2-3 a day.I was fat before and I became so thin now. I want to gain weight and should look a bit fat as before.
I really hope you understand my situation and I am even ready to meet you personally.

Thank You,
XXXX

Brief Answer:
Basic package with some more listed tests...

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

From what I understand you are a smoker and have history of breathing issues (?chest congestion), weakness / fatigue and seem to have lost weight. This warrants physical examination and evaluation from a pulmonologist / chest physician. I practice far away from your location, therefore I will suggest you to meet your local physician if not a chest physician for evaluation.

You may need battery of tests that includes complete blood count, ESR, Chest X-ray, Blood sugar, Vitamin b12, calcium, vitamin D, Thyroid profile, liver function test and an ECG. Other tests may be deemed necessary after clinical examination.

It is important that you quit smoking completely. Smoking 2-3 cigerrates a day is not equal to no smoking. Motivation and persistence is the key to success here. Keep yourself motivated and avoid smoking completely. If are motivated to quit smoking, I can help you here.

Regards

Brief Answer:
Multidisciplinary hospitals..

Detailed Answer:
I am sorry, I personally do not know any doctors from XXXXXXX as my practice is in XXXXXXX XXXXXXX However the best approach will be to visit a multidisciplinary hospitals where all specialties and laboratory services are under one roof. Care hospitals situated at Banjara Hills is well known and recognized. If you are ok with the distance, you may consult physicians / healthcheck up centre there.
Otherwise, you may try Innovative Medical Centre at Madhapur. Dr. XXXXXXX Khulbey is a physician practising there. You may visit her.

Hope this helps.

Regards

PS: I do not know the doctor and the hospital listed there. I have listed them based on research online as well as XXXXXXX discussion with friends and colleagues.
