Brief answer...if drug therapy fails, then surgery is the answer.
Detailed answer...
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
I have read your query and understand your concern.
For bladder neck obstruction the most initial treatment is always medicines.
You were first given tamsulosin ( contiflo ) to start with.
When it didn't show any result a second drug was started called as roliflo OD which is combination of tamsulosin and tolteradine.
TOLTERADINE helps in reducing the urine frequency.
But if this combination also fails, then the best is to get the surgery done.
The procedure involved is incision of bladder neck. This procedure is highly effective in eliminating uncomfortable symptoms.
In certain individuals where incision doesn't relieve symptoms or if the bladder neck obstruction is severe ,then open surgery may be required to reconnect bladder neck to urethra.
I hope it helps, however you are most welcome to revert to me for any further query.
Best of luck
Thanks
