Suggest Medication For Finger Inflammation Post Injury

default
Posted on Mon, 23 Nov 2015
Question: Hello, I suffered a finger injury over a month ago on the right side of the nail of my right middle finger. The nail stayed in place but the contusion opened up on the side of the nail and opened up on the end of the finger. Everything has healed up on the side and on the but a hudge lump of proud flesh started to wrap around my nail on the side. Ihad to trim the nail back and partway into the nailbed along the side to alleviate inflammation and further swelling. Im on keflex antibiotic medication. Is there any further recommendations to alleviate symptoms.

Brief Answer:
An ingrown nail likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
I have seen all the attached images. This is likely to be an in grown nail. This needs a surgical removal of the nail. Taking only oral antibiotics will not help. You need to contact your surgeon for proper treatment.
I hope this answers your query.

Brief Answer:
Continue with antibiotics.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Continue with antibiotics and avoid any exposure to dirt or dust to avoid infection. Sucking will not help.
Hope my answer is helpful.
