Brief Answer:
Blood pressure lowering, as soon as possible

Detailed Answer:
Hello, madame! Thank you for your question and welcome to HCM. I understand your concern.

These are unacceptable blood pressure figures. These surges of high blood pressure, in these figures, are a reason to seek medical attention in an emergency room nearby, and lower it with IV nitrates or sodium nitroprusside, done in a healthcare facility, where monitoring is also available. Therefore, I recommend you to go to the emergency room as soon as possible. There may be dangerous complications from these figures, also knowing that you are 81 years old.

As for the long-time strategy of controlling the high blood pressure, there are other classes of drugs that can be added to your already-installed therapy to control hypertension. This possibility can be discussed on your Wednesday appointment with your doctor. But, at the moment, it is recommended for the very high and dangerous blood pressure figures to be brought under control.

I hope I was helpful. If you have follow-up questions, I would be happy to help.

Kind regards,
Dr. Meriton
