Question: Hello,
Im breastfeeding 3.5 month baby, I started having nasal block from sunday night on my left nose. I put sinurest saline drops in night, steam inhallation monday morning and sinurest tablet in afternoon.

Monday night i put more saline drops by mistake caused irritation and took steam inhallation tuesday afternoon and night along with sinurest tablet, blowing out frequently made my left nose irritated and little red inside. Due to irritation stopped steam inhalation

Wedesday my nose started blocking alternatively, Frequent blowing made right nose red. I was sleepless from 2 am morning due to congestion, head and check jawline pain. I applied conconut oil to irritated red area.

Thursday also same condition i reduced blowing and started applying coconut oil to redness and slightly massage outside nose with coconut oil. nigth i had too much irritation in eyes. I put little breast milk to eyes and slept. This helped clear up congestion till i sleep. Now after i wake up 2:30 am again congestion in one nose. I spit the mucus out from throat and found little blood mixed with mucus. It was little rust like color. My throat was dry when i woke up and spit after 15 mins. Im breastfeeding my baby so trying home remedies.
Please suggest.

Hi
Welcome to Healthcare Magic and thanks for putting up the query
You are having acute nasal infection. As there is redness you should take antibiotics too.
Take Sinarest three times a day.
Take nasal drops three to four times a day.
Get a x-ray paranasal sinuses done.
The eye irritation is also due to nasal infection only. Don't put breast milk. instead put ciprofloxacin eye drops 2 drops three times a day.
Continue taking steam inhalation.
Avoid frequent blowing of nose as it might be causing irritation to nose.
You can apply soframycin ointment in the nose.
All the medicines I have prescribed will be available at prescription only a and are safe during breast feeding.
Any further questions are always welcome.
Follow up with Xray and also tell me do you have this problem several times a year?
Take care
Thanks and regards
