                                            Question : hi
My one month old baby has been diagnosed with thrush two days ago. He has a few white patches on lips and has white patches on tongue as well. Breastfeeding him has been very painful for a few days. My nipples are red, it s most painful at the time of latching, and pain lasts for several minutes after feeding. I have observed slight white color on my nipples.
our paediatrician has prescribed candid mouth paint for the baby.
I would like to know if there is any medicine for pain as well as fungal infection for me, which is safe to use while breastfeeding

                                    Brief Answer:
Mouth paint and Fluconazole
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
You can use the candid mouth paint on the nipple twice a day to get the fungal infection cured.
Along with it, you can take Fluconazole tablet (you may need a prescription for these) once a day for 14 days.
If there is an excessive pain, then painkiller like Paracetamol (500mg twice daily after some food) can be used.
Hope you found the answer helpful. Feel free to ask further.
