Question: Hello Dr,
My mom had a right hand stroke in July. She has made a fairly good recovery. She also has Parkinsons on her left side..so her once was her good side has become her weak side unfortunatley. She is on 5 Sinemit a day for her tremor, she is not getting much relief from it. However, she sleeps well at night with a help from a sleeping tablet. Overall, do you recommend she could be on another medication to help her with the parkinsons. thanks XXXX

Brief Answer:
Yes, could improve with other medications.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your mother's symptoms and it is unfortunate that her good side got affected with stroke.

Regarding Parkinson's disease (PD), she could use other medications to help her get better.

For tremors, she can use pacitane (trihexiphenidyl) tablets.

For rigidity and slowness, she can use pramipexole or ropinirole tablets.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,

Yes, she can take these PD medications, while taking other medications for cholesterol and blood pressure lowering.
