Brief Answer:
Effect size compare efficacy between two modalities.

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking from HCM

Effect size is a statistical calculation that is done in order to compare efficacy of treatment between two drugs by quantifying size of difference between the treatments.

If two drugs used for Schizophrenia are compared in terms of efficacy then effect size can be used. This is a dimensionless calculation.

Effectiveness is the degree of desired effects of a drug. This is not a comparative value. If effectiveness is compared then that will be compared with Effect size.

Brief Answer:
Cariprazine showed greater efficacy in negative symptoms.

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for asking again

The particular study you mentioned didn't include Cariprazine. As the drug is new drug so the studies on it are limited.

In one study about 460 patients were included and 230 received Cariprazine and 230 received Risperidone. The study compared efficacy and side effects of Cariprazine with Risperidone. The Cariprazine group showed greater improvement in negative symptoms compared to Risperidone group. The effect size in that particular study was 0.31. The difference was statistically significant.

Thanks

Hello thanks for asking again

Though I haven't used this drug but as per studies the drug has great efficacy in controlling the negative symptoms. But you can expect improvement of around 40% with this drug. Though more detailed studies on this drug are still undergoing.

Thanks
