Question : Hello My daughter is on erythromycin but still coughing heavily can I give her Delsym . She was diagnosis with pneumonia. She does not really have a fever
Brief Answer:
Start her on antihistamine and expectorant
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I understand your concerns but don't worry. Delsym is not appropriate for cough relief in pneumonia. I would recommend you to go for an antihistamine and expectorant such as Chlorpheniramine or fexofenadine along with Benadryl CR. Give her plenty of warm fluids and steam inhalation for decongestion.
Hopefully it will be of help. I would be happy to help you in any further questions.
