Suggest Medication For Severe Headache And Fatigue
Question: Hello, I have been suffering from a severe headache for 4 days and have had fairly frequent headaches recently (but not as prolonged as this one). It is worse when I sit and lie down, it wakes me up at night and I am therefore not sleeping well. Yesterday I took the usual paracetamol, which I have been taking regularly for two or three days. They did not work and I took a 50 mg sumatriptan tablet in the afternoon. I have been prescribed them for migraines but very rarely take them. The pain went but returned during the night. I must point out that I had a subarachnoid heamorrage two years ago and although the pain is nothing like as intense and I am not vomitting, I do feel sick and don't know what to take now to stop the pain.

Severe headache may be due to migraine, cluster/tension headche, increased intracranial pressure and glaucoma. As you have a history of subarachnoid haemorrage it is better to consult doctor for CT scan head/MRI . For time being you can take any analgesic drug like brufen/combination of paracetamol & brufen. Details regarding your age/sex/associated illnesses if any would be of great help for any further suggestions.
