Question : hi yes I have a very sore throat and a dry cough...i have completed a course of anti biotic's - 4 tablets for a bronchial infection....and now have watery eyes and dry cough - sore throat - what do I do now...? seek more anti biotic's of maybe anti viral meds? Im in china and its not easy communicating with doctors etc
the anti biotic was LEVOFLOXCIN ...the chinese gave me a blood test and asked me if i wanted an injection or tablet form...i choose tablet....after 4 days i feel better in the chest bit now have very sore throat and cough.

Hello and thank you for your question.
The levofloxacin should have taken care of any upper respiratory viral infection that is going on so I doubt you need more antibiotics. It is probably just a viral infection. We do not usually give antivirals for that as they are not helpful. Just treat the symptoms, drink plenty of water and rest as much as possible. if you are not better in a week or if your symptoms worsen then see a doctor.
You can take tylenol or motrin for sore throat along with throat lozenges. For the cough try something like robitussin DM cough syrup. You can search for local brands which contain Dextromethorphan and guaifenesin.
