As I suffered depression before the onset of menopause it has made things worse, thus making it for a very very poor quality of life.
Thank you.
Start HRT
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
I have read you query and I understand your concerns about menopausal problems.
Following is my reply:
1) You can start on hormone replacement therapy ( HRT ). This consist of estrogen and progesterone tablets.
2) These medicines will help you in depression, mood fluctuations, itching and dry vagina.
3) Weight gain is mainly due to decreased metabolic rate ( fat burning ) during menopause. This can be avoided by having low calorie diet with less fat and sugar intake along with exercise. Exercise helps to keep body weight in check.
4) I understand your poor quality of life that you are describing. These changes are there for another year probably. Later these generally go away as body adjusts itself to menopause.
I hope I answered you query and addressed your concerns.
Let me know if you wish to ask any further questions. I will be glad to help you.
Regards,
Dr. Soumya
