Medroxyprogesterone acetate can be taken.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to us. Followings are my comments:
1) I can suggest you to take progesterone pill, contains Medroxyprogesterone acetate (like Deviry etc). Usual dose is 10 mg daily and you should start from today if you are NOT on exclusive breast feeding.
You can continue this medicine till completion of your function. You will get back your period within 3-7 days after cessation. You should take complete prescription from your regular doctor.
2) It is also secreted in the breast milk but the amount is NOT sufficient to have adverse effect on the breast fed infant. Therefore, it is considered to be safe during breast feeding.
3) I don't recommend Primolut-N (Norethisterone) as its concentration is slight high in breast milk to cause little adverse effect and change in taste or amount.
Hope, it helps for your information. Wish your good health and enjoy your function.

No, it will be not effective if period starts.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Welcome back again.
If your period is already started, then it is quite difficult to stop natural blood flow. It is usually taken at least 3 -4 days prior to due date for effective result.
However, you can start taking this from today if your period is NOT started yet.
Hope, it helps for you. Good luck and take care.
